A Taste of Spice

This short, sharp trip is perfect for relaxation at the beach after a safari in the African bush. It combines the magic that is Stone Town (one night) with three nights of luxury relaxing at the beach. (4 nights in this entire itinerary can be changed) We head straight to your chosen beach resort after your safari and then a night in Stone Town to round off your holiday before leaving for home.

4 DAYS 3 NIGHTS
DAY 1:ArriveZanzibar airport/harbour and transfer to Stone Town Hotel for check-in. At 2:30pm we take a trip to Prison Island, a home of giant tortoises. Flanked by an amazing beach of reef sanctuary, the island is ideal for swimming, snorkelling and beach relaxation. We return to Stone Town at 5:30pm to dine and overnight.

DAY 2:
After breakfast, our Stone Town tourwilltake you around the historical, culture and architectural importance of Zanzibar, with a century worth of history.

It includes a visit to former slave market site, which now stands as an Anglican Church built in 1871; we then experience the town market if you are not used to bargaining for something this is best left alone. We visit the Zanzibar Memorial Museum, House of Wonders built in 1883 (Beit – Al-Ajab), an old Arab Fort, the Palace Museum and an old Indian Dispensary (cultural centre).

At 2:00pm we travel to the North or East Coast Hotels via the Maruhubi Palace ruins. Upon arrival at the Living Stone House we then precede on the spice and botanical tour. On this tour you will see and taste the tropical fruits, the spice plantations and plots of the island. A variety of spice plants can be used as ornaments, medicines, fruits and another interesting flora can be seen during the spice tour. Our visit includes the Kidichi Bath built in 1850 by the first Sultan for his wife Sheharzad (granddaughter of Fateh Ali Shah of Persia). We return to the hotel for dinner and our overnight stay.
DAY 3:
Full day beach relaxation. At the hotel, there are a lot of beach activities like snorkelling, scuba diving, body surfing and kite surfing etc.

DAY 4:
Africa Joy Tours will arrange transport for you from the hotel to the airport/harbour.
