


7DAYS GORILLA SAFARI UGANDA
Book your gorilla permit with us for private or group mountain gorilla trekking in Uganda and Rwanda, plus game viewing in the Queen Elizabeth National Park.
DAY 1:
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel by Africa Joy Tours and driven to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. We drive through the scenic countryside of Western Uganda, via the beautiful Kigezi Hills with their terraces, as if man made and through the “scenic little Switzerland” of Uganda, with excellent views of this beautiful evergreen area. Lunch will be served on the way and we arrive late in the evening at the Bwindi National Park for dinner and our overnight stay at the luxurious Gorilla Resort/Camp or Buhoma Community Bandas.
DAY 2:
Very early, after breakfast, we assemble for a briefing by the guides who explain the rules when encountering the gorilla groups. We then proceed to the forest for gorilla tracking. The time taken to see the gorillas is unpredictable, so you are advised to carry a packed lunch. Encountering the gorillas is an unbelievably exhilarating experience!! You will be privileged to spend some time with these endangered species with the allotted time being approximately an hour. We then return to the lodge for dinner and our overnight stay.
DAY 3:
After your breakfast we proceed to the Queen Elizabeth National Park. A game drive en route through the Ishasha sector is rewarded with tree climbing lions, bush bucks, antelopes and many other animals. We arrive in time for lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, we will be driven to the Crater Lake region to view the various crater lakes around the park plus the Lake Katwe where salt is traditionally mined. We have dinner and overnight at the luxurious Mweya Safari Lodge or the Jacana Lodge.
DAY 4:
Very early in the morning, while still dark, you will be picked up by Africa Joy Tours for an early morning game drive through the Kasenyi track to see the nocturnal hunters return after a successful hunt. We will see leopards, lions, hyenas and many others. We will then return for our mid morning breakfast and in the late afternoon we will go for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel where you will see hippos, crocodiles and a variety of water birds. We will overnight at your designated hotel.
DAY 5:
The drive to Nyakasura after breakfast is via Fort Portal Town to visit the ‘Amebere ga Nyinamwiru’ Caves. Here we view the stalactites and stalagmites. This will be a quick tour, after which we proceed to Kibale National Park for dinner with our overnight stay at the Ndali Lodge, Kanyankyu Tourist Centre, Fort Portal or you can stay at the Rwenzori View Guest House.
DAY 6:
After breakfast, we assemble at the Kanyankyu Tourist Centre. We embark on a morning chimp tour and afternoon swamp walk seeing a variety of primates, like the Vervet monkey’s, L’hoest monkey, Black, White and Red Colobus monkeys, Olive baboons and many others. In the afternoon, you will be taken for a nature walk around the Bigodi swamp to view the various bird species in the park. We will have dinner and overnight at your designated lodge wherever you are booked in.
DAY 7:
After breakfast we drive to Kampala via Fort Portal Mubende District Road arrangements have been made for your return home
The safari package includes:
